Tributes to Prince are far from over, as D.C. will continue to celebrate the icon’s life throughout the weekend. At daylong socials, brunches, happy hours, and late-night parties, DJs have promised to throw Prince tribute sets in the mix. And there are even a couple of music and film events slated for next week. Here are some of them:

Friday

  • No Rules Fridays at Amsterdam Cafe and Lounge (1208 U Street NW) will feature a Prince tribute by DeeJay Blinks. The recurring party runs from 5-11 p.m. Come early for happy hour food and drink specials.
  • “D.M.S.R.: A home going for Prince” featuring DJ Jahsonic is taking place at the Eighteenth Street Lounge (1212 18th Street NW) starting at 10 p.m.
  • “Full Moon Freakout” with DJ The Question is happening at 10 p.m., hosted by The Dew Drop Inn (2801 8th Street NE).

    Saturday

  • At some point during Rock Creek Social Club’s daylong Grilled Cheese Social, DJ Jerome Baker III will make a Prince set happen. The party takes place at Marvin (2007 14th Street NW) from 1-9 p.m. Come between 1-5 p.m. for food service. RSVP does not guarantee entry.
  • A Drink With Friends promises its Play It Cool party will “sweat out perms” with a Prince tribute at Songbryd Music House (2477 18th Street NW)—sounds by DJ Life and Quartermaine. It starts at 10 p.m., with a $10 cover.
  • Sunday

  • There’s also brunch to be had at Songbyrd Music House in honor of Prince, with southern chicken sliders, rainbow trout po-boys, capresse skewers, and more beginning at 11 .am. The shop is also selling Prince’s 1999 album for half price.
  • Next Week

  • On Monday, La-Ti-Do is inviting local artists to celebrate the life of Prince at Bistro Bistro (1727 Connecticut Ave, NW). Doors open at 7 p.m., the party starts at 8 p.m., and tickets are $15 at the door.
  • And on Wednesday, the Shaw Neighborhood Library (1630 7th St NW) is screening the semi-autobiographical, self-mythologizing and prophetic Purple Rain at 6:45 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. You can also catch the film at two D.C.-area AMC theaters this weekend.
