PRIMARY COLORS: In addition to the presidential primaries, Maryland has some down ballot races today that ought to prove interesting—from the open Senate seat to the eighth district Congressional race to the Baltimore mayoral primary. Watch the results from the Old Line State, as well as Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Delaware at any of the Busboys and Poets locations. 8 p.m. Free.

PRINCESS JAZZY: The “Can I Kick It?” film series from Shaolin Jazz monthly screens a martial arts classic while playing a soundtrack of hip hop, funk, and soul music—kind of like a Dark Side of the Rainbow experience, but with DJ 2-Tone Jones instead of one album. The movie tonight is Ong-Bak, so you can watch master Tony Jaa creatively break arms while enjoying good tunes along with food and drink specials at Songbyrd Record Cafe (2475 18th Street NW). Event begins at 6 p.m., film screening starts at 7 p.m. Free.

ENTHUSIASM: You may have learned to never judge a book by its cover, but the front of The Enthusiast tells us that the action in Josh Fruhlinger’s novel, at least partly, occurs on the D.C. Metro. The creator of The Comics Curmudgeon will be at Upshur Books (827 Upshur Street NW) tonight for a reading and signing. 7 p.m. Free.
