District drivers will have to navigate their way around two events this weekend: a celebration of people and another of bikes.

The Asian Heritage Festival is taking place on Saturday, closing several downtown blocks from 2:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

  • Pennsylvania Avenue, NW from 3rd Street, NW to 6th Street, NW
  • Constitution Avenue, NW from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to 6th Street, NW
  • 4th Street, NW from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to Constitution Avenue, NW

More expansive road closures are happening on Sunday, as organizers of the inaugural DC Bike Ride are expecting as many as 8,000 cyclists to take a 17 mile journey across the region.

According to MPD, the following streets will be closed from Saturday at 11:00 pm until midnight on Sunday.

  • Pennsylvania Avenue, NW between 3rd and 7th Streets, NW
  • Constitution Avenue, NW between Pennsylvania Avenue, NW and 7th Street, NW

And these streets will be closed from Sunday at 6:15 a.m. (unless otherwise marked) until 11:00 a.m.:

  • 1st Street, NW from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to Maryland Avenue SW

  • Maryland Avenue, SW from 1st Street, NW to 3rd Street, NW

  • 3rd Street, SW from Maryland Avenue, SW to Pennsylvania Avenue, SW

  • Independence Avenue, SW from 7th Street, SW to 3rd Street, SW

  • 7th Street, SW from Independence Avenue, SW to Maine Avenue, SW

  • Maine Avenue, SW from 395 Exit Ramp (Treasury Building) to 7th Street, SW

  • 14th Street, NW from Constitution Avenue, NW to the 14th Street Bridge

  • 395 HOV Lanes from the 14th Street Bridge to S. Eads St Exit (Closed at 8:00 am)

  • Constitution Avenue, NW from 14th Street, NW to 18th Street NW

  • 18th Street, NW from E Street, NW to Constitution Avenue, NW

  • Virginia Avenue, NW from E Street, NW to Constitution Avenue, NW

  • E Street, NW from 18th Street, NW to Potomac River Freeway, NW

  • Potomac Freeway From Rock Creek Parkway, NW to Whitehurst Freeway, NW

  • Whitehurst Freeway, NW from Potomac Freeway, NW to Canal Road, NW (Closed at 6:30 am)

  • Whitehurst Freeway, NW from Potomac Freeway and K Street, NW to Key Bridge Exit (Closed at 7:15 am)
