If you’re staying in town for Memorial Day weekend, don’t fret—there’s plenty to do from concerts, parties, and festivals to motorcycle rides, and more.

And as you partake in holiday festivities, note that Metrorail track work is scheduled for all six lines this weekend. And on Memorial Day, trains will begin running at 7 a.m. and will close at midnight—off-peak fares will be in effect all day. Plus, parking at Metrorail facilities are free for the holiday.

  • The National Gallery of Art’s beloved Jazz in the Garden series is back on Friday with the 19th Street Band. The group offers “old school” music with modern elements. The Pavilion Café offers a special menu of food and refreshments (don’t skip the Sangria). It kicks off at 5 p.m.
  • In addition to carnival rides, the Capital Fair at the RFK Stadium grounds offers a petting zoo, pig racing, camel and pony rides, games, and more. It opens on Friday. Hours and prices vary.
  • Rockville’s annual Hometown Holidays festival runs from Saturday until Monday at the Rockville Town Center. It features live entertainment, activities and games for kids, and more.
  • Organizers of the annual Rolling Thunder event are expecting thousands of motorcycle riders to hit the streets this weekend. Bikers will gather in the North and South Pentagon parking lots at 7 a.m. on Saturday and roll out at noon.
  • One Love Massive is hosting a Block Party on Saturday featuring “three generations of funk.” It’s taking place at Union Tunnel, a park in NoMa near Union Market, and it starts at 4:20 p.m. Ticket fees are $20-$25.
  • Several District venues including Ozio, Capitale, Town Tavern, and Cafe Asia are hosting parties and happy hours throughout the weekend as well.
  • The annual National Memorial Day Concert boasts “a star-studded lineup” this year including Renée Fleming, The Beach Boys, Trent Harmon (the final winner of American Idol) along with the National Symphony Orchestra, and more. The free event is happening Saturday on the West Lawn of the Capitol, and gates open at 5 p.m.
  • Capitol Skyline Hotel is hosting a Pool Party on its rooftop. The location features two outdoor bars and one indoor bar where you can purchase fireball shots, beer buckets, and more. A free food item and beer comes with your $25 ticket. It’s taking place on Sunday from noon until 6 p.m.
  • You can also get wet at dozens of District-run pools that are opening this weekend.
  • There’s nothing like a parade to officially celebrate a holiday. The 12th annual National Memorial Day Parade is taking place on Monday along Constitution Avenue NW at 2 p.m. It’ll include celebrity guests, live music performances, and more.
  • Military personnel and their families can get free admission to the National Museum of Women in the Arts from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Guests can check out special exhibitions such as She Who Tells a Story: Women Photographers from Iran and the Arab World, and more.
