As the death toll nears 300 in the deadliest attack in Iraq in years, a candlelight vigil is planned for this evening at Dupont Circle.

“Iraq has been suffering for the last 14 years, death after death and the world is still silent about it,” organizers write. “Join us to stand with the Iraqi people who lost their family members, friends and beloved ones.”

According to the health ministry, 292 people were killed in Sunday’s suicide bombing outside a shopping center in Baghdad. Officials expect the toll to continue to rise.

The vigil is planned for 7:30 p.m. More information is available on a Facebook event page.
