On Saturday, the hordes of tourists on the National Mall looking down at their phones were joined by hordes of locals looking down at their phones—and catching Pokemon. Hundreds of hunters showed up to the Pokemon Go meetup despite the threat of rain. Photographer Alex Edelman caught them all, along with Pikachu hats, a poke ball doughnut, and plenty of Pokeshirts. “It was a lot of planning and stress, but you guys coming out in force made it all well worth it!” writes organizer Daniel Gonzales. “We’ll be in touch soon about a potential sequel soon.”
