I’ve never really gotten the hang of parallel parking, but at least I’ve never given a love tap—more like a bear hug, really—to a car worth more than $300,000 during my attempts (yet).
At a Katie’s Cars and Coffee meetup on Saturday in Great Falls, Va., the driver of a Mercedes 380 SL allegedly backed into a Ferrari 458 Speciale, though a video capturing the aftermath (which has since been taken down) doesn’t begin until after the Mercedes is atop the Ferrari.
“That’s a big, big problem over here,” you can hear someone say in the video as the cars remain conjoined.
No one was hurt in the accident, which is lucky because the video shows kids in the backseat of the Mercedes. The Ferrari, however, did not emerge unscathed—photos show the car was scratched.
The incident has received international attention. “Che disastro!” reads one Italian headline. “Most expensive accident ever!” another says hyperbolically in Greek.
Updated to reflect that the meetup occurred in Great Falls, not Falls Church, and with a new video.
