A MetroBus has struck a pedestrian in Northeast and the injuries appear to be minor, according to Metro and D.C. Fire and EMS. The pedestrian is being treated by medics on the scene.
The incident, which occurred at the corner of 7th and Monroe streets NE, was reported to Metro at 4:13 p.m., says spokesperson Morgan Dye.
“A male juvenile pedestrian walked into the side of the bus as it was making a right turn onto 7th Street,” says Dye. There are no reported injuries of passengers or the driver, she adds.
D.C. Fire and EMS confirms that a person was struck at 7th Street NE. “From all indications, it does not appear that there are serious injuries involved,” says D.C. FEMS spokesperson Vito Maggiolo.
The involved G8 bus is still holding at the scene. Riders can expect delays of about 25 minutes on the G8 line.
