Update: Train service on the Green line between Branch Ave. and Southern Ave. stations has been restored, per Metro.
Metro Police says that preliminary investigations into the incident indicate the person was on the tracks intentionally.

Original: A Metrorail train fatally struck a man this morning. Police are currently investigating the incident as Green Line trains operate between Southern Avenue and Greenbelt stations only.
The train hit the man on the tracks between Naylor Road and Suitland stations. Officials responded to the incident around 5:40 a.m., according to a tweet from the Metro Transit Police. The man was pronounced dead on the scene.
The department currently has “no reason yet for why this person was on the tracks,” according to Metro.
