The Metropolitan Police Department is clearing the scene of an investigating into a suspicious package near the Warner Theater, WJLA reports.

Police were called to 13th Street NW around 9:45 a.m. and subsequently evacuated surrounding buildings “out of an abundance of caution.” Nearby streets and a metro station entrance were also closed.

The District has been on heightened alert following the New York City and New Jersey explosions over the weekend. “We have no specific reason to be concerned,” DC Mayor Muriel Bowser told reporters, according to WJLA. “But we’re the nation’s capital, so we remain at a highly vigilant level.”
