In the 90’s plenty of bands were chasing the hard rock grunge sound. Post-Nirvana, labels were on the lookout for copy-cat bands, signing several. Many of these groups were regulated to bargain bins, but Champaign, Illinois band Poster Children built a cult following. Formed in 1987, the band put out nine albums through 2004, including four on major labels. The first of those major label releases was Daisychain Reaction, produced by Steve Albini. Twelve years after calling it quits, Poster Children is back with a tour and a reissue of its most popular recording.

Bastille @ 9:30 Club 7 p.m. Sold Out. All ages accessible venue.
Dan Smith formed Bastille in 2010 as a solo project but it then grew into a full band. The first album, Bad Blood, was a commercial success due to he song, “Pompeii”, which peaked at number 5 on the Hot 100 and earned a Grammy nomination. Bastille is back with another cinematic and sprawling record, Wild World. While the band’s sound has not changed, the songs are stronger and the album is more cohesive. Tracks like the lead single, “Good Grief”, and the darker track, “The Currents”, would fill a stadium, so, it is no wonder the band sold-out this show quickly.
