Next Tuesday night, several streets around Dupont Circle will be restricted to pumps and stilettos as the annual 17th Street High Heel Race returns.
That means between 6:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. on October 25, cars will have to take a different route on the following roads, according to the Metropolitan Police Department:
- 17th Street NW between Riggs Place and P Street—Southbound
- Riggs Place, R Street, Corcoran Street, Q Street, and Church Street (Eastbound and Westbound) between 16th Street NW and 18th Street NW
For more than two decades, the race has attracted thousands of D.C. residents to watch the city’s most fabulous cross-dressers strut throughout the city in their finest apparel.
