Joining a storied tradition of folks from the Obama administration hopping into cars with comedians, Vice President Joe Biden took out his 1967 Corvette Stingray for a spin with Jay Leno at a Secret Service facility outside D.C.

As a general rule, the Secret Service prevents Biden from driving, though the VP says the agency has made three exceptions to drive the Stingray during his time in office, and he looks like he savors being back behind the wheel. “I shouldn’t say it on television,” Biden begins, before continuing, “I like speed.” He admits to “burying” the Stingray, driving it to its full 152 miles per hour when he was younger.

Biden is the original owner of the car—he explains it was a wedding gift from his father, who owned a Chevrolet dealership, during his marriage to his first wife. His sons had the engine rebuilt as a Christmas gift to their father.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Jay Leno affair if the country’s most vacuous chin didn’t pose some off-putting questions, like when he asked whether Biden was more excited about the car or his wedding night (“the wedding night,” Biden answered without hesitation) or details about “romantic encounters” in cars.

The clip, meant to drum up excitement for Leno’s forthcoming show on CNBC, ends with a “surprise” guest from a man who’s probably glad to show up of his own volition.
