File this one under: very predictable outrage.
A public school principal in Virginia dressed as Donald Trump and a school secretary donned a prison jumpsuit for her Hillary Clinton costume on Halloween, according to WTVR.
A photo of Principal Mark Rowicki and secretary Stephanie Corbett donning their duds was then posted onto the Robert E. Lee High School website, leading to an outcry from parents and residents of Staunton, Va.
“I felt it was not in good judgment to portray Hillary Clinton in the prison outfit. Donald Trump was portrayed appropriately, but Hillary should have been given equal billing or none at all,” Cathy Sterrett, a Lee HS graduate, told News Leader.
But others took issue with the Trump costume, too. “What message are you sending to any of them when their high school principal dresses up like a man who wants to deport them, says things like “she’s a nasty woman”, or “grab em by the p—-?” said Emberly Lynn Martin, an alumna and parent, on her Facebook page.
The picture has since been removed at the request of Staunton City Schools superintendent Linda Reviea.
“The particular costumes worn by two employees at R.E. Lee High School were in poor judgment, especially so given the current political climate and the extraordinarily strong sentiments for the 2016 presidential candidates,” said Reviea in a statement on the website. “We are handling the situation as a personnel matter and addressing the issue with relevant staff.”
Rowicki told WTVR that he dressed in costume to “connect more with the students.”
