Update: D.C. Fire and EMS says that the fire is now out.

The building was in the midst of the demolition process, says Doug Buchanan, a spokesperson for DCFEMS. He says that workers were in the process of breaking down parts of the roof when some of it caught fire.

The crews are expected to clear the area by around 12:30 p.m.
