FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 25

MUSICAL THEATRE: The Tony Awards winning adaption of the Irish musical romance Once comes to The National Theatre for three nights. (*Saturday and Sunday performances also available, 8 p.m. $58-98)

NSO POPS: Watch E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial on the big screen, accompanied by the Oscar-winning score performed live by the NSO Pops. (*Saturday performance also available, The Kennedy Center, 8 p.m. $29-99)

BLUEGRASS: Add a little bluegrass to your Thanksgiving weekend at Keller Williams’ second annual Thanksforgrassgiving (9:30 Club, 8 p.m. $25)

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 26:

SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY: If you still have money left over after Friday’s sales, shop for locally-made products including knitwear, jewelry, bags, baby clothes, dog biscuits, and more. The 4th annual Made in DC Holiday Marketplace, presented by DC Brau Brewing Company & Think Local First DC, features more than two dozen vendors, plus food trucks, live, music, and more. (DC Brau Brewing Company, 1-6 p.m. FREE entry) Meanwhile, in Old Town Alexandria, you might be spotted by the Elf Prize Patrol as you taste chocolate, wine, beer, Bloody Marys, and more from over a dozen Alexandria businesses participating in Small Business Saturday festivities.

TREE LIGHTING: Watch the lighting of a 75 foot Christmas tree at CityCenterDC’s Third Annual Holiday Tree Lighting. Alongside the tree, you’ll also find the return of the 25-foot reindeer, and an overhead holiday display spanning three blocks of Palmer Alley. Plus, enjoy live performances, face painting, and more. (The Park at CityCenter, 6 p.m. FREE)

SPACE POP: Brooklyn based artist The Landing, who describes his music as “both earthy and otherworldly, interwoven with themes of ambition and the human condition,” performs at the Rock & Roll Hotel. (8 p.m. $12)

HOLIDAY MARKET: Stop by the 12th Annual Downtown Holiday Market anytime through December 23rd to shop from over 150 vendors selling art, crafts, jewelry, clothes, accessories, and more. A full schedule of exhibitors and performers can be found here. (8th and F Streets, NW, 12-8 p.m. FREE entry)

LIVE RADIO PLAY: Per popular request, the Washington Stage Guild has brought back last season’s hit, It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play. A group of voice actors tell the story of George Bailey and his guardian angel, Clarence, complete with sound effects and period ads.
