This week’s agenda includes partying like it’s no longer prohibited, exchanging canned goods for a can of beer, date night at the Zoo, and more.

MONDAY, DECEMBER 5

SIP & SHOP: The Capitol Hill Chamber of Commerce’s Holiday Sip & Shop features a traveling holiday tasting and the chance to win prizes from Capitol Hill businesses. Start at Labyrinth Games & Puzzles to collect your wine glass, shopping tote, and shopping map, then collect stamps from the five businesses listed on the map for your chance to win prizes from Capitol Hill Yoga, Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, East City Bookshop, Hill’s Kitchen, and more. HOLIDAY COMEDY: Capital Laughs hosts a Holiday Extravaganza at The Passenger, featuring jokes and a Q&A about the holidays. The show is free, so you can spend all your money on drinks. (The Passenger, 7:30-10 p.m. FREE, registration required)

REPEAL DAY: On this day in 1933, 13 years of Prohibition came to an end. Celebrate 83 years of the 21st Amendment at Jack Rose Dining Saloon’s 5th Annual Repeal Day. The evening festivities will include a Pappy Van Winkle & Bourbon & Rye Whiskey Happy Hour from 5-7:30 p.m., and prohibition era punches and cocktails from 6 p.m.-12 a.m. Plus, come in your best period attire for the chance to win a cocktail tasting for two at Dram & Grain. CABARET: Monumental Theater Company, the company developing works for millennials by millennials, presents Warm & Toasty, a cabaret starring Florrie Bagel, featuring Allie O’Donnell and Tiziano D’Affuso. An evening of classic holiday tunes, feel-good musical theater, and smooth jazz standards will be followed by the 2017 Season Announcement Party. (Signature Theatre, 7:30-9 p.m. $40)

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 6

***Due to the inclement weather forecast, Shirlie’s Annual Light Up the Village Tree Lighting event is CANCELED***

TREE LIGHTING: Last week, rain put a hold on Shirlie Lights Up the Village. There is also rain in the forecast for tomorrow, so cross your fingers you’ll actually be able to ride on a horse drawn carriage. In addition to complimentary rides (with the donation of a non-perishable food item to benefit the Arlington Food Assistance Center), the event will also featuring live musical performances, photos with Santa, a tree lighting, and more. SPA NIGHT: Register for one of six complimentary mini-services during Fountains Day Spa’s Annual Winter Open House. Featured services include a scalp massage, hand massage, facial, and more. COMEDY: Comedy on the Table, D.C.’s longest running stand-up comedy show to feature all women, turned five this past October. This week, they’re hosting four anniversary shows, the second of which is Comedy Beyond the Table, featuring nine performers who have all graced the stage at previous Comedy on the Table shows. WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 7

HOLIDAY PARTY: Shaw Main Streets hosts its Annual Holiday Party, featuring signature dishes from Shaw restaurants, wine and soft drinks courtesy of Douglas Development Corporation, music by DJ Black Santa, and more. (Howard Theatre, 7-9 p.m. FREE, registration required)

CANNED FOOD EXCHANGE: Exchange a canned good for a can of beer at Pizzeria Paradiso’s annual Give a Can, Get a Can event. This Wednesday, the promotion only applies to the Georgetown location, but the same event will be held at other locations in subsequent weeks. Available beers include Oskar Blues, DC Brau, 3 Stars, Jacks Cider, and more. All canned goods will be donated to Martha’s Table. (Pizzeria Paradiso Georgetown, 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m. FREE)

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 8

DATE NIGHT: ZooLights is perfect for a date night as is, but a champagne cocktail, hot toddy, snow-less tube rides, carousel rides, and sweet treat will make it extra special. This Date Night special is $65 per couple. (National Zoo, 5-9 p.m. $65).

BACON AND BOURBON: Fill your evening with bacon, bourbon, beer, bites, and bluegrass during the return of Washington City Paper’s Bacon & Bourbon Whiskey Festival.
