Mike Posner, Lindsey Stirling, JoJo @ Fillmore Silver Spring. 7 P.M. $46. All ages, accessible venue.
Mike Posner “took a pill in Ibiza to prove to Avicii he was cool,” but ended up hating the entire experience. So goes Posner’s 2015 hit, “I Took A Pill In Ibiza”, a tropical house song that was inescapable last year. Along with Lindsey Stirling and JoJo, Posner kicks off 94.7 Fresh FM’s Not So Silent concert series. Lindsey Stirling is known for selling out big venues as a classically trained violinist and a big YouTube star. JoJo was a teen pop star who suffered years of label trouble before releasing Mad Love, her first album in ten years.

Third Eye Blind, Wrabel, The Rua @ Fillmore Silver Spring 7 P.M. $35. All ages, accessible venue.
94.7 Fresh FM’s Not So Silent concert series ends with 2016’s most woke band, Third Eye Blind. Known for their late 90’s hits, “Semi Charmed Life” and “Jumper”, 3EB never really went away. While their later period albums have yet to spark big hits, despite still being quality, the band got a big bounce in popularity this year after trolling an audience during the Republican National Convention, asking the crowd if they believed in science. The band are joined by two up an comers, the Kesha co-signed Wrabel and the English pop-rock trip, The Rua.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 9
Dragonette, Gibbz @ U Street Music Hall. 7 P.M. $20. All ages, accessible venue.
Dragonette has been making electro-pop for eleven years now. Through the course of four albums, including their debut, Galore, and November’s Royal Blues, the band has amassed a discography full of should-be-known hits. The band did score a pop hit with their Martin Slovieg feature, “Hello.“, but has since doubled down on the electronic part of their sound. Royal Blues is full hooks with tracks like “Let The Night Fall” and “Lonely Heart.” Though their songs are built for the days of summer, the band is sure to warm up U Street Music Hall for the night.
Flasher, Swim Team, Post Pink, DJ Anna Nasty @ Black Cat. 9 P.M. $12. All ages, accessible venue.
D.C.’s Flasher is a supergroup of sorts, featuring Taylor Mulitz of Priests, Emma Baker of Big Hush, and Daniel Saperstein from Bless. The trio makes nervy post-punk, taking cues from The Cure, Joy Division, and Bauhaus. Mulitz’s guitar lines interplay well with Baker’s rhythmic drumming and each member’s vocals compliment those of the others, adding to the layered sound. The band released its first tape on the local label, Sister Polygon, also run by and home to Mulitz’s band. Though the tape was put out in April, Sister Polygon just pressed the vinyl version, which was released in November.
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 10

The record takes on classics like “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” with new soon-to-be classics such as “Christmas Makes Me Cry” and the Willie Nelson feature, “A Willie Nice Christmas”. The tour features Musgraves playing the majority of her latest record along with other Christmas standards and a spattering of her hits.
