A man entered a public charter school in Eckington this morning to seek help after being shot nearby, according to D.C. Police.
The man was waiting in his car as his girlfriend took his child into Harmony Public Charter School on the unit block of Todd Street NE around 8:30 a.m., according to Lieutenant Ronald Wright of the Metropolitan Police Department.
While waiting for her to come back, someone shot at the man several times from a gold Lexus. The man ran into the school and waited for police and fire officials to arrive. There were no reports of anyone inside the building being injured.
The man suffered from one gunshot wound to his arm and slight bullet graze to his stomach. He was conscious while being taken to a local hospital.
At this point, police believe that the incident is domestic in nature. Police are searching for a black male with a beard driving a gold Lexus.
