FRIDAY, DECEMBER 16
JUGGLING LESSONS: Learn to juggle with instruction from veteran juggler Christian Kloc. The Circus District: Juggle Jam will feature a short demo, goofy warm-ups, pro tips, and the opportunity to put on a show with your fellow jugglers. (Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, 6 p.m., $5 donation, drop-in only)
PROCRASTINATOR’S SHOPPING: If you’re still working on that holiday shopping list, avoid the rush at the malls, and shop at a local holiday market instead. The Procrastinator’s Holiday Market pops up this weekend, featuring a winter-themed drink bar and over two dozen vendors selling local gifts. (Rhode Island Shopping Center, 5 p.m. on Friday, noon on Saturday and Sunday, FREE)
BURLESQUE: If you’re a holiday scrooge, the BAH HUMBUG Burlesque & Sideshow might be your perfect escape from “annoying Christmas carols, ugly sweaters and Rudolph.” Experience the dark side of the holidays complete with belly dancing, hooping, and a “pain defying” sideshow. (Black Cat, 9:30 p.m., $12-15)

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 17
MORE HOLIDAY MARKETS: One more week, and then we’ll go back to pretending there are more important things in life than shopping. But for now, we highly recommend spending all the money in your holiday budget on local vendors. Find them at GRUMP, featuring over 50 vendors, plus photo opportunities with a Yeti, (Shops at Crystal City, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., FREE entry, plus FREE parking) or Shop N’ Shaw, featuring over 20 vendors. (The Event Space – Wonder Bread Factory, 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, FREE entry)
COMEDY: He moved from D.C. to NYC, but Kevin Seefried hasn’t forgotten his comedy roots. He’s back in town to share 30 minutes of his latest and greatest jokes. Martin Amini, Denise Taylor, and host Jack Coleman will also provide laughs. Tickets are $8 each or 2 for $12, but the first 10 people to use promo code “dcist” get 2 tickets for $8. SOLSTICE CIRCUS: At Sweet Spot Aerial Productions’ Shine a Light! A Solstice Circus, watch acrobats, aerialists and jugglers tell the story of young man who “discovers that he has the power to bring light and inspire joy in even the most surprising places.” (Atlas Performing Arts Center, 1 p.m. or 6 p.m. *Sunday performance also available, $15-25 )
JEWISH LIFE: The 8th annual My So-Called Jewish Life will feature seven storytellers, including an IT Project Manager, filmmaker, speechwriter, and lawyer, telling “peculiar autobiographical stories about all things Jewish, not-so-Jewish, and wanna-be Jewish.” (sixth & i, 7:30 p.m. $20-25)

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 18
STONE CARVING: There are more yoga classes at breweries than we can keep track of, but how many opportunities do you have to carve stone at a brewery? Enter New District Brewing Company, have a beer, and 2.5 hours later, walk out with a small stone creation carved with your own hands. (1-3:30 p.m. $27)
STIPPLING: If you balk at the idea of adult coloring, perhaps stippling is more up your alley. Turn thousands of dots into a work of art with instruction by interior designer and doodler Claire Keane. (The Lemon Bowl, 3:30-5:30 p.m. $30-50, e-mail Claire to reserve a spot)
SHOPPING AND MUSIC: If you’re not already the best gift giver in your family, these markets might change that. First, the Fifth Annual Artists & Artisans Holiday Extravaganza at 3 Stars Brewing Company will feature 16 vendors, plus music by DC Smudge and performances by the Silver Spring School of Rock and Boho Belly Dance. Each ticket includes a tasting glass and one beer. (1-6 p.m. $15). Second, the Rock-N-Shop garage sale features the city’s best record shops and crafters selling essential records, t-shirts, and more. (Black Cat, 7:30 p.m. FREE entry)
