FRIDAY, DECEMBER 23
THEATER: You have just over a week left to experience the best-selling show in Woolly Mammoth’s history. With a diverse group of six African-American cast members, The Second City’s Black Side of the Moon shows that there’s “no one way to be black.” (Woolly Mammoth Theatre, 3 p.m. OR 8 p.m. , $84-94, performances continue through January 1)
COMEDY: Tony Woods‘ 9:45 p.m. show is sold out, but his 7:30 p.m. show is not. Meanwhile Ryan Conner‘s 7:30 p.m. show is sold out, but tickets to his 9:45 p.m. show remain. An original member of Russell Simmons’ Def Comedy Jam and P. Diddy’s Bad Boys of Comedy, Woods is currently working on a comedy special, and both Friday night shows will be filmed for the special. Meanwhile, Ryan Conner, a Top 10 finalist on Last Comic Standing‘s 2015 season, will likely share updates on his 11 brothers. (DC Improv, $17-$20 + two item minimum)
UGLY SWEATER PARTY: If you have one, why not get a free drink out of it? Wear your ugly sweater or PJ’s to Hawthorne before midnight, and get a free Bud Light or rail drink. Plus, there will be prizes for the ugliest attire!

DAYTIME FUN: If you have the day off, treat yourself to a Special Holiday Drag Brunch, featuring an all-you-can-eat brunch and Shi-Queeta Lee and her Divas entertaining you with their best interpretations of Diana Ross, Dolly Parton, Beyonce, and more. WATER SKIING SANTA: “The first rule of Santa’s water-ski club is: You do not talk about Santa’s water-ski club — at least not while using your real name,” Express reports. For the 30th year, a group of volunteer reindeer, grinches, Jack Frosts, elves, toy soldiers, and, indeed, Santa, head out to the freezing expanse of the Potomac to put on a beautifully silly local tradition. (Alexandria waterfront, 1 p.m.)
TEQUILA PARTY: As organizers implore: order Chinese food, then head out for Hava Tequila. Celebrate Christmas Eve/Hanukkah by dancing to the beats of DJ Basscamp and imbibing free beer before midnight. (Mellow Mushroom, 10 p.m.-2 a.m., $18 entry)
FESTIVE DISPLAYS: Get in the holiday spirit by taking a walk or drive through the city’s pretty light displays. (Various locations, times, and prices)

BUBBLE TEA: It’s a Christmas miracle. Kung Fu Tea opens up its newest location at the Eden Center this Sunday. The Grand Opening festivities will include buy one, get one free Kung Fu Milk Tea, Kung Fu Milk Green Tea, Passion Fruit Green Tea, and Winter Melon Tea. (12-6 p.m.)
OSCAR WATCH FILMS: Head to the Arlington Cinema & Drafthouse and take your pick of “Oscar Watch Films” including Trolls (1:15 p.m.), Sully (3:45 p.m.), and Hacksaw Ridge (7:00 p..m). Tickets are $7.25 each.
