This weekend’s agenda includes all-you-can-eat Timber Pizza, a special NYE performance of Elvis’ Birthday Fight Club, booze and board games, and more.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 30

INDOOR CLIMBING: Earth Treks Crystal City hosts The Snow In, featuring climbing, games, a holiday film, holiday tunes, seasonal treats, beer, and more! You are encouraged to wear an ugly sweater and bring sleeping bags for cozy movie watching. Also, guests will receive one raffle ticket for every two canned goods they donate to the Arlington Food Assistance Center. (7-11 p.m. regular admission applies, free for members, day passes start at $25)

ANIMAL WELFARE: End the year on a charitable note by partying for the good of the animals. When you arrive at the 21st Annual Night Before New Year’s Eve Party, a voluntary $20 contribution at the door will go straight to the Humane Rescue Alliance—the merged Washington Humane Society and Washington Animal Rescue League. Plus, the more you drink, the more you help the animals, as Hawthorne will donate 10 percent of the party’s proceeds to the HRA. (Hawthorne, 8:30 p.m.-2 a.m.)

DANCE PARTIES: Take your pick between dancing to “new and cutting edge music” at the Liberation Dance Party (DC9, 10:30 p.m. $5), or “everything from mid-80’s C86, late-70’s punk to the leading edge of indie guitar pop,” at the Mousetrap Indiepop Dance Night. (Black Cat, 9:30 p.m. $7)

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 31

IT’S NEW YEAR’S EVE! If you’re still looking for things to do, yesterday we outlined somefree and low cost options for you. Below are our five picks that are worth the $50-and-up price tag.

ELVIS’ BIRTHDAY FIGHT CLUB: Astro Pop Events, our pick for one of the best small theater companies in D.C, hosts a special New Year’s Eve Edition of Elvis’ Birthday Fight Club (regular performances are scheduled for January 6 and 7). A performance by the The Wopbops, D.C.’s only 50’s rock cover band will precede the Fight Club performance, while a dance party with the cast and crew will follow the performance. If watching Spongebob beat up the Brawny Man, or Count Chocula beat up Count von Count is at all appealing to you, you won’t want to miss this show. (GALA Hispanic Theatre, 8 p.m.-1 a.m. $50)

BLACK SIDE OF THE MOON: The Second City’s highly acclaimed Black Side of the Moon officially ends its run at Woolly on January 1, and all regularly scheduled performances are sold out. But there’s still a last chance to see the show, at a special New Year’s Eve performance & party. A reception featuring drinks, treats, music by DJ Q, and a champagne toast will follow the performance. Last year’s reception even included some impromptu hula-hooping, so you’ll never know what surprises might be in store. (Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, 9:30 p.m. $110-160)

PIZZA PARTY: All-you-can-eat Timber Pizza. Do I need to say more? There will also be drinks and dancing and stuff. (Timber Pizza Company, 8 p.m.- 1 a.m. $100)

PIG ROAST: If all-you-can-eat pizza doesn’t strike your fancy, perhaps all-you-can-eat pig, fried chicken, and lobster mac will? The New Year’s Eve pig roast at Barrel will also feature an open bar with hand-selected bourbons, house cocktails, draft beer, and wine to accompany said food. (Barrel, 9 p.m.-3 a.m. $100)

FUTURISTIC COSTUME PARTY: Gather your best “Futuristic” garb and join The Gibson to celebrate The Future. Fashion inspired by Logan’s Run, The Jetsons, Wally, Back to the Future, etc is highly encouraged. All guests will have access to an open bar, small bites, a midnight champagne toast, photo booth, and burlesque performances. (The Gibson, 9 p.m.-2 a.m. $130)

More: Noon Yards Eve, Silent Disco Bash, ANXO Cidery & Pintxos Bar, Oyamel, The Sovereign, Beuchert’s Saloon, Casino Royale, Down 4 The Count, Neighborhood Cookout Pre-Bash, Steampunk Masquerade Ball
