ART INSTALLATION: Attend the opening reception of a new exhibition by the Korean Cultural Center’s 2017 Artist of the Year. “Suspicious Growth” by Tai Hwa Goh showcases the delicate layering of printed and cut paper to “reflect on the accumulation of memory and experience, and the interior and exterior worlds of the human body.” The exhibition will be open for viewing through February 24. LITERARY MUSIC: East City Bookshop launches Book By Its Cover, a new live music series produced by GoldPants Rentals. The first installment of the literature-inspired rock shows features Tom Caiazza and The Proper Pets performing music inspired by love, lust, and loneliness. Expect songs about hookups, breakups, and tunes for first and last dates. (East City Bookshop, 7-9:30 p.m. $12)
COMEDY: It’s time for another Capital Laughs monthly showcase. As usual, you can use promo code “dcist” for a discount. However, the last showcase sod out, so you might want to splurge on a $15 VIP seat. (Town Tavern, 8-9:30 p.m. $10-15)
MORE COMEDY: DC Improv’s The Next Wave series features rising stars recommended by DC Improv headliners. Both of Jordan Rock’s Saturday shows have already sold out, but you can still purchase tickets to one of the two Friday shows. (DC Improv, 7:30 or 9:45 p.m. $17 + two item minimum)

BARGAIN SHOPPING: It’s the weekend for bargain shopping in NoVa. First, for the early birds, throw on some leggings and a tank top, and head to the Alexandria Boutique Warehouse Sale. More than 30 boutiques will be offering markdowns from 60-80 percent off. (The Westin Alexandria, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. , FREE) Meanwhile, in Arlington, the Crystal Couture Show & Sale wraps up. Guests can look forward to a runway show, free make-up and hair makeovers, and discounted offering from more than 40 retailers. FOOTBALL FUNDRAISER: If you’re still deciding where to watch the Big Game, our pick for the most unique viewing experience is this Super Bowl Party and Fundraiser at the Microsoft Store in Pentagon City. Your donations to EduSerc will help provide scholarships to college students. There is a suggested donation of $25, but if you’re feeling extra generous, pick a team and pledge $5 per point. MORE FOOTBALL: If you’re looking for a viewing party more inside the box, consider The State Theatre (FREE entry), or Jack Rose DIning Saloon. Guests of the Super “Chili” Bowl can work their way through an unlimited amount of five chilis, ten drafts, and five cans. (6-10 p.m. $45)
