A pilot is alive and walking after crashing a small plane near the Potomac Air Field in Fort Washington, Md. this morning.

Prince George’s County Fire and EMS officials began searching for the pilot while he spoke to a 911 respondent, PG FEMS spokesperson Mark Brady tweeted around 11:30 a.m. About twenty minutes later, Brady said fire officials located the pilot as he was walking in a wooded area. Fox 5 News livestreamed the scene.

WUSA 9 reported that the pilot had a head injury, but he would be fine. And Brady said he was flown to a trauma center as a precaution.

There was no report of a fire or hazmat issue with plane. And most of the fire officials returned to their stations around noon, Brady said.
