Acclaimed HBO series Veep—a show that was conceptualized as a fictional comedy but has since become a chillingly realistic depiction of federal government gone mad—will return on April 16th. Star Julia Louis-Dreyfus announced Veep’s return on Twitter today:

Last time we saw **SPOILER ALERT** Selina Meyer, the Senate had just voted to instate her opponent’s pick for Veep, Laura Montez, as president, costing Meyer the presidency and the vice presidency she’d brokered with her pick for Veep, Tom James (elections are complicated even in fiction).

It’s unclear where we’ll find Meyer now that she’s out of the White House for good—will she wander the woods on end or defect to Richard Branson’s private island? What will happen to her team (and most importantly, all of Mike’s adopted babies)? How is Jonah’s testicular cancer treatment going? Tune in on April 16th at 10:30 p.m. to find out—at the very least, the Veep universe’s unending shitshows will be a nice respite from the real nightmare on CNN.
