This weekend’s agenda includes a double dose of sideshow, playing bocce against your favorite local breweries, and more.
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 17:
SIDESHOW: D.C. gets a double dose of weird this Friday. First, the DC Weirdo Show, the home for “freaks, geeks and exposed buttcheeks,” returns with sword walking, dangerous juggling, comedic plate spinning, and more. (The Bier Baron Tavern, 9-11 p.m. $15) Meanwhile, you can help raise funds for the nationwide gathering of weirdos in New Orleans at the The Southern Sideshow Hootenanny fundraiser. Hosted by Swami Yomami, the show will feature local performers Charlie Artful, Sally the Cinch, Hot Todd Lincoln, and Corey Twinge. (Black Cat, 9 p.m. $15)
MARYLAND BEER: The Brewers Association of Maryland presents Love Thy Beer: Winter Warmer Showcase. Sample seasonal beers from 24 breweries, including Olde Mother Brewing, Smoketown Brewing Station, and Waredaca Brewing Company. (Silver Spring Civic Building, 6-10 p.m. $50-65)
FUNNY LADIES: It’s tough to choose between Jamie Lee and Marina Franklin, but thankfully both ladies perform several times throughout the weekend. Jamie Lee performs five shows at DC Improv, (Various Times, $20-42), while Mariana Franklin performs twice at the Arlington Cinema & Drafthouse. (10 p.m. $20)

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18:
BOCCE TOURNAMENT: Help fight prostate cancer by registering to compete against your favorite local breweries in a bocce tournament. Spectators are also welcome, and will be able to enjoy $3 beers from participating breweries. VIP tickets will give spectators access to a lunch buffet and unlimited beer. (Pinstripes Georgetown, 11 a.m.- 5 p.m. $5-400)
PLAY IN A DAY: Watch the culmination of 24 hours of work as six D.C. area theater companies perform ten-minute plays written the night before. Warning: Despite the fact that the plays will be performed at a children’s theater, not all performances will be suitable for children. (Imagination Stage, 8 p.m. $15)
BURLESQUE: If the two sideshows on Friday wasn’t enough weird for you, Saturday brings you Willy Wonka and the Burlesque Factory. Don’t worry, this show takes place twenty-five years after Charlie’s first visit to the factory, so everyone has grown up! (The Bier Baron, 9 p.m. $12-22)
JAZZ PERFORMANCE: Enjoy an intimate performance by jazz artist, Mark G. Meadows, who will collaborate with Deacon Izzy, vocalist and rapper, to create never before heard music. The experience is BYOB, but paper, drawing supplies, and watercolors will be supplied in the case you feel inspired to visually interpret the music. (The Lemon Bowl, 7-9 p.m. $25)
