FILM SCREENINGS: Take your pick between two Tuesday night film screenings. First, the documentary Mele Murals takes you to the rural community of Waimea to show how public art rooted in underground graffiti impacts the community. (Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, 7-9 p.m. FREE) Meanwhile, the French film Camille Redouble (Camille Rewinds) follows 25-year-old Camille as she relives her teenage years with knowledge from her adult years. MUSICAL MEMOIR: Hear a first-hand account of The Cure’s growth and superstardom when Lol Torhurst reads from his memoir Cured: The Tale of Two Imaginary Boys. (Songbyrd Music, 7:30 p.m. FREE)
CLIMATE FICTION: Nathaniel Rich, author of Odds Against Tomorrow and Kate Walbert, author of The Sunken Cathedral discuss “fiction in the age of climate derangement.” (Folger Shakespeare Library, 7:30 p.m. $15)

MARGARITAS: To celebrate National Margarita Day on 2/22, El Tamarindo will be offering $2.22 house margaritas, frozen or classic. Specialty flavors like strawberry, mango, and tamarindo will also be available for $5.

STORYTELLING: Bloomingdale sure loves storytelling. First, at The Pub & The People, DC Diary hosts Recording Happy Hour: New Beginnings (6-9 p.m. FREE). Share and/or listen to stories about “transitions, opportunities, uncertainty, and change.” You can even choose to have your story recorded for the DC Diary Podcast. Then one hour later, and not too far away, Big Bear Cafe hosts Bloomingtales. Share and/or listen to tales of life being just like the movies. (7-9 p.m. FREE)
ART: RAW will feature over 60 independent artists showcasing their work in visual arts, music, film, fashion, and more. (Howard Theatre, 7 p.m. $22-30)

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 23
THEATER: There’s a new theater company in town. Attend the inaugural show from the Starstuff Theatre Collective when they perform their take on the Tony Award-winning musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. (Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church, 8 p.m. $5-15)
MORE THEATER: Is there more to life than “jumping, go-karts, and princesses in other castles?” Find out in the parody play, Brother Mario and watch Mario and Luigi “battle Bowser and mid-life ennui in equal measure.” (The Writer’s Center, 8 p.m. $20-30)
RUM: In advance of the DC Distillers Fest, happening this weekend, sample rum from six local distilleries, including Lyon Distilling Company, Lost Ark Distilling Company, and host District Distilling Co. (District Distilling Co, 5-8 p.m. FREE)
VENTRILOQUY: Paul Zerdin, comedian, ventriloquist, and winner of the 10th season of America’s Got Talent, brings his million dollar winning act to Arlington. He performs the first of five shows on Thursday. (Arlington Cinema & Drafthouse, 7:45 p.m. $30)
