The annual Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon is returning this Saturday and shutting down dozens of streets in all four quadrants of the city.
Runners will hit the streets at 8 a.m. but some roads will shutter as early as 2 a.m., according the marathon’s list of closures. And D.C. police announced that drivers will retake the streets around 3 p.m.
The marathon will also impact public transit, according to the D.C. Department of Transportation.
The D.C. Circulator’s National Mall Route will have a delayed start at 10 a.m. And the Woodley Park-Adams Morgan-McPherson Square route will detour, with no service at stops near Harvard Street NW. And the following stops will have service between 7 a.m. and noon:
Southbound
- Connecticut Avenue NW / 24th Street
- Adams Mill Road NW / Columbia Road
- Columbia Road NW / Ontario Rd. NW
- Mt. Pleasant Street NW / Irving Street
- Irving Street NW / 14th Street
Northbound
- Columbia Road NW / 14th St.
- Columbia Road NW / between 15th & 16th St.
- Columbia Road NW / Ontario Rd.
- Adams Mill Road NW / Columbia Rd.
- Connecticut Avenue NW / 24th St.
The Woodley Park-Adams Morgan-McPherson Square route will return to normal service at noon, or as road closures allow. Meanwhile, D.C. Streetcar service will begin after runners clears the H Street Corridor around 1 p.m.
The event includes a half and full marathon. Here are all of the streets that will be closed:
