Even though federal and D.C. government employees didn’t get a full day off, several local restaurants are honoring Winter Storm Stella’s efforts with drink and food discounts lasting all day long. Here are some places in the District with “snow day” specials:
Bayou is having happy hour specials from 4 p.m. until closing. The New-Orleans themed restaurant is offering $4 Abitas, $5 house wines, $7 rail drinks, $8 Hurricanes, and $6 snacks like fried pickles, cajun buffalo wings, and NOLA nachos.
Due South is offering food and drink specials all day long. The Navy Yard restaurant’s discounted menu includes an $8 Due South Lager and shot of Bushmills, $6 Snow White Russians, and $4 Texas Brisket Chili.
City Tap House Penn Quarter is offering $5 select draft beer, $6 house wines, $7 mulled spiced wine, and a $7 “cookie dough smash.”
Jetties locations in Chevy Chase, Foxhall, Macomb, Penn Quarter, downtown, and Bethesda are offering a free small cup of soup with the purchase of any sandwich or salad.
Surfside Glover Park is offering specials for those who dine in, including a free small order of chips and guacamole with the purchase of any entree. Pitchers of Margaritas will also be half-priced beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Station 4 is offering $5 drafts of 10 Barrel Brewing Co.’s Pray for Snow American strong ale while supplies last.

Town Hall is offering happy hour specials until 7 p.m. that include $4 “locals and lights” beers, select $5 wines, and half-price bottles of wine.
Hank’s Cocktail Bar opened early at 2 p.m. with a $5 Old Fashioned, House Punch, and Hot Toddy, plus $7 Irish Coffee and Spiked Hot Cider.
Hank’s Pasta Bar is having an all-day happy hour with food and drink options. There will be specials on Italian coffee, local draft beer, fine wines, and cocktails.
Hank’s Dupont is also having an all-day happy hour featuring drinks and bar snacks. It will offer $1.25 select oysters on the half shell. Hank’s Old Town will have the $1.25 oyster special at the bar. And Hank’s On The Hill’s happy hour is only at the bar as well, and features Snow Day Punch.
Ripple is offering happy hour all night at the bar. The Cleveland Park restaurant’s menu will feature fried chicken with green curry ranch, charcuterie, and cheeses.
Casolare Ristorante & Bar is offering happy hour prices all day, including $4 beers, $5 prosecco and house wines, $6 Americanos, $8 cocktails, and $10 pizzas.

Silo is running a happy hour until 7 p.m. with discounts on cocktails and draft beer.
Sixth Engine is offering discounted hot toddies and Irish coffees until 7 p.m.
Commissary began serving $5 veggie and beef burgers at 11 a.m. It’s also serving $10 Rosé and Frosé, $4 spiked hot chocolate, $4 spiked caramel apple cider, and $4 Natty Boh combos.
Dino’s Grotto is having an all-night happy hour with $4 local drafts, $5 antipasti, $6 house wines, $8 signature cocktails or ¼ liters of chianti, and $10 charcuterie boards.
Graffiato is offering happy hour specials at the bar all day.
Central Michel Richard is offering complimentary gougeres (buttery, flaky choux dough cheese puffs) during dinner service tonight for all diners from 5 until 10 p.m.
