WEDNESDAY, APRIL 12

If you need something to get over the Wednesday hump, get your heavy metal fix with Baroness at 9:30 Club. Baroness is a heavy metal band based out of Savannah, Georgia. The band formed in 2003, releasing albums consistently over the years, the most recent being Purple. The Bethesda-based indie-rock group, Trans Am, opens. Doors at 7 p.m. $30 (+ fees).

The Hamilton hosts alternative rock band Roadkill Ghost Choir. Doors at 6:30 p.m. $12-$17.

The guys of the Red Hot Chili Peppers are still going strong and come to Verizon Center on the latest stop of the band’s tour to support its 2016 release, The Getaway. 8 p.m. $52-$102 (+ fees).

THURSDAY, APRIL 13

Metal and beer collide at Atlas Brew Works with King Giant. Thanks to The Craft Brewers Conference & BrewExpo America’s return to D.C. this week, there are plenty of hard-hitting shows brought to you by our city’s best breweries and distributors. Atlas Brew Works teamed up with DCHeavyMetal.com, TRVE Brewing (of Denver), Champion Brewing Company (of Charlottesville, Va.), and Decibel Magazine for a night of live metal music and the debut their new Black Saison, called HaSaWoDo (AKA Hail Satan Worship Doom). LORD and Cavern open. Doors at 8 p.m. $10.

One-woman band Kawehi stops by Songbyrd Music House as part of her I Am Eve tour, bringing Charleston, South Carolina native Tyler Boone along for support. Doors at 7 p.m. $18.

Garage soul band Lucid Petrichord makes its debut at Velvet Lounge. Opening are fellow D.C. locals Surprise Attack and Maryland’s stargazey Leo & Cygnus. Doors at 8 p.m. $8.

Dangermuffin celebrates the release of its newest album Heritage at Gypsy Sally’s. Rounding the out night are The Trongone Band and Bencoolen. 7 p.m. $12 in advance/$14 at the door.

Echostage brings international EDM superstar Flux Pavilion to D.C. with Kayzo and G Buck for Flux Pavilion Presents: Around the World in 80 Raves. Doors at 9 p.m. $42.60 (+ fees).
