Tax Day is quickly approaching. Luckily, it’s been pushed to April 18 this year because of weekends and Emancipation Day, giving you three extra days to procrastinate.

The pain (or gain) of Tax Day is always an opportunity for restaurants and bars to offer discounts and specials to celebrate another year of paying dues to Uncle Sam. We’ve rounded up the happenings around D.C. here and will update the list as more are announced.

City Tap House
901 9th St. NW

Accounts and tax professionals have likely had a busy few months, and City Tap House is thanking them with a free happy hour drink from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.—just show your business card to your bartender. After that, take advantage of the regular happy hour specials like happy hour select $5 draft beers, $6 house wines, and a $7 shot-and-a-beer special.

The Grill Room
1050 31st St. NW

The restaurant at Georgetown’s Rosewood hotel is hosting a high-taste Tax Day wine special that will run from April 18 through the end of the month. The Grill Room will pour
Télégramme by Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe, a wine from Châteauneuf du Pape in Southern Rhone, France, for $15 a glass and $60 a bottle. If that sounds expensive, it’s regularly $25 a glass and $98 a bottle. So come stretch your dollar with a fancy glass during lunch or dinner.

Hula Girl Bar & Grill
4044 Campbell Ave., Shirlington

Hula Girl chef and owner Mikala Brenna will get behind the bar Tax Day for happy hour from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Bottles of wine will be on offer for $20 and select beer, well drinks, and wine are $4.20 along with $2 off drafts and specials on bar food.

Noodles & Company

Multiple locations

Noodles & Company is aiming to make meals a little cheaper with a discount of $4 of any $10 online order with the code TAXDAY17. That goes a long way with its affordable menu of internationally-inspired pastas, soups, and salads. It’s valid now through April 18.

Osteria Morini
301 Water St. SE

This Italian spot is celebrating Tax Day with a Tuesday edition of it’s “Morini Monday” pricing. Pasta bowls will be $10 all night, like rigatoni with wild mushrooms or pappardelle with duck ragu. There will be happy hour going too, with 20 percent off all beverages, including imported beer, wine, cocktails, Scotches, and more.

Mike Isabella’s restaurants
Multiple locations

Most of the restaurants in Mike Isabella’s robust portfolio are offering an extension of their regular happy hour specials. Kapnos and Requin (in Fairfax) are extending happy hour hour until 9 p.m.; Pepita is extending happy hour all day; and Graffiato, G by Mike Isabella, Kapnos Taverna (in Arlington), and Kapnos Kouzina (in Bethesda) each have all-day happy hour at the bar.
