D.C. Police are searching for a suspect who fatally stabbed a 79-year-old man inside of a Capitol Hill home.
Police found David Norwood suffering from multiple stab wounds in the 600 block of C Street NE on Sunday, according to a release from the Metropolitan Police Department. Officials arrived at the residence around 1:40 p.m. after receiving a call about an unconscious man.
Fire officials came to the scene “and found no signs consistent with life,” according to the release. Norwood was then taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The case is being investigated as a homicide.
Norwood’s murder comes weeks after police arrested a man who they say tied up and fatally stabbed a visiting artist in a Capitol Hill apartment.
Police are asking that anyone with information to Norwood’s case call 202-727-9099 or anonymously text messaging 50411. MPD offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of people responsible for homicide cases in the District.
