You are not likely to hear much opera being played in bars in D.C. Or anywhere, for that matter. This is where Wonderland Ballroom steps in. They will have Opera on Tap this week, featuring Mary Ellen Brennan, Melissa Chavez, Elizabeth Mondragon, Maggie Ramsey, Carla Rountree, Jenete St. Clair (and her cello!), and Dave Chavez on piano. Opera on Tap is a Brooklyn based nonprofit who’s mission is “to promote opera as a viable, living and progressive art form deserving a place on the American cultural landscape.” 8 p.m. FREE

New York rockers The Pretty Reckless come to 9:30 Club, supporting their junior album, Who You Selling For, which they released in October. Led by Taylor Momsen, The Pretty Reckless have quickly established themselves as a formidable group in the industry, guided by a strong and ambitious woman in a genre where women rockers are hard to come by, and harshly judged. Momsen stands against the judgement and shows that she belongs. 7 p.m. $30.

U Street Music Hall presents Kilter with support from Lance Neptune. 10 p.m. $10.

Stop by The Howard Theater for Reggae Fest VS Soca, a Caribbean dance party tour. Featuring music from BIMSHIRE, MAYA, and MAGA. 11 p.m. $25.

Electric Maid in Takoma hosts Punk Cabaret and Punk with Lauren O’Brien. Other artists include Paul Anthony, Outta Gas, the Karrigas, and No Dead Monsters. 7 p.m. $10 (cash only).

D.C. locals, The Perfectionists, bring their set of original music and covers to Acre 121 this Saturday. They will be the last band to play Acre 121, as it will be closing, and not reopening as a music venue. 10 p.m. FREE

Singer-songwriter Jon Mclaughlinand The Indiana Tour come to The Hamilton. After spending time in the limelight of Hollywood following the success of his debut Beautiful Disaster and a role in the film Enchanted, Mclaughlin chose to leave Island Records in order to maintain control and creative responsibility for his music. 6:30 p.m. $17.75 – $24.25.

16th Street House hosts A Case Of You: A benefit for Whitman-Walker Health featuring Joni Mitchell and the original music of DMV locals Annie Stokes, Cynthia Marie, Ara Casey, Rachel Kline, Sarah Curtin, Alex Tebeleff, Megan Jean and the KFB, and Foster Carrots, among others. All proceeds benefit Whitman-Walker Health, whose mission is “to be the highest quality, culturally competent community health center serving greater Washington’s diverse urban community, including individuals who face barriers to accessing care, and with a special expertise in Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) and HIV care.” 5:30 p.m. $10 donation (entrance only), $20 donation (entrance, a glass of wine, and small plates).
