A fictional U.S. president is making his rounds in the District with a real-life presidential photographer.

Frank Underwood, the American president on House of Cards, has hit iconic places from Union Station to Ben’s Chili Bowl today. Underwood, who’s portrayed by Kevin Spacey, is being photographed “on the campaign trail” by Pete Souza, the former chief official White House photographer for President Barack Obama. Some of the photos feature the character alongside his ruthless chief of staff, Doug Stamper, played by Michael Kelly.

A few weeks before the show premiered last year, Underwood unveiled a presidential painting at the National Portrait Gallery—a tradition that usually takes place once a U.S. president leaves office.

“Since Francis Underwood doesn’t believe in term limits, I don’t see a reason why it shouldn’t be unveiled now,” said Spacey of his character, during a press conference.

His appearance in D.C. today comes nine days before the show’s fifth season is expected to drop on Netflix.

A push in the right direction.
