Who’s ready to join the walk to end pancreatic cancer? Washingtonians are! PurpleStride Washington, D.C. is back and bigger than ever, with more than 3,600 people expected to turn out on Saturday, June 10 at Freedom Plaza.
Pancreatic cancer is the world’s toughest cancer, with a five-year survival rate of just 9 percent. It’s the third leading cause of cancer death in the United States. What does all this mean? That urgent change is needed in order to save lives.
The 5K run/walk welcomes people of all ages and includes activities for kids, plus music, refreshments and a chance to mix and mingle with other people who have come together with one common goal—to give pancreatic cancer patients and their families a brighter future and ensure that one day, no other mother, daughter, father, son, sister, brother, or friend has to face this disease.
You can be one of those who does something to change the statistics.
