Moviegoers have officially begun camping out in front of outdoor screens to watch award-winning films, classic fan favorites, and kid-friendly flicks across the region. While La La Land did not win best picture at this year’s Oscars, it’s getting lots of love on screens in our area this summer. Washingtonians also have a couple of options for viewing Hidden Figures—which earned Octavia Spencer her second Academy Award—including a showing that’s part of a film series highlighting women in film. There’s also a series dedicated to politics and power, plus another that mixes martial arts movies and hip-hop music. For the youngest of viewers, options include The Lego Batman Movie, Moana, and several more. Here are the lineups for this year:
