An auga fresca pop up
The “Royal Knights” cocktail series is back at The Royal in LeDroit Park (502 Florida Ave. NW) with a cocktail pop up this Monday. This month’s focus is on agua fresca, a refreshing Latin American staple that combines fresh fruits, herbs, grains, flowers, and seeds. In The Royal’s case, there’s also plenty of booze. Stop by anytime between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m. to try a Coming Up For Air, featuring Cana Brava Rum, Borsci “San Marzano” liqueur, horchata, and espresso. Or go with an Endless Birthdays, a mixture of Ford’s gin, hibiscus, lemon, sparkling wine, and egg white. All cocktails are $8 and are available for one night only.
Kao Soi at Kingfisher
Fans of the shuttered Alfie’s D.C. should head on down to Kingfisher (1414 14th St. NW) for two nights of curry noodle soup, beer, and fun. Come grab a cold brew and a hot bowl of Khao Soi this Wednesday and Thursday, August 16 and 17, from 5 p.m. until the kitchen team sells out. The pop-up is cash only, so come prepared.
Openings
The Bethesda-based BonBon Brasil is bringing its famous chocolate brigadeiros to the halls of Union Market (1309 5th St. NE). Stop by anytime to enjoy delicious bites of cocoa powder, condensed milk, and butter rolled in any topping of your choice.
