The extended shutdown on the Green Line continues this weekend with the closures of Branch Avenue, Suitland, and Naylor Road stations.
Crews are working to rebuild a cross-over where trains can move from one track to the other, in addition to other maintenance work.
Naylor Road will reopen on Monday and Branch Avenue and Suitland stations will remain closed through August 20. Passengers can take free shuttle buses between Branch Ave and Southern Avenue.
Red Line trains will run every 20 minutes between Shady Grove and Glenmont as crews install communication cables for cell phone coverage along the Red Line.
There’s no scheduled maintenance work on the Orange, Silver, Blue, and Yellow Lines.

Trains every 20 minutes | 7:00 a.m. Saturday until closing Sunday.
Red Line trains will operate every 20 minutes between Shady Grove and Glenmont.
Single tracking between Farragut North and Judiciary Square to allow for communication cable installation along tunnel walls for cell phone coverage.

Green Line trains will operate at regular weekend intervals between Southern Ave and Greenbelt.
Free shuttle buses will operate on two routes:
- Between Branch Ave and Southern Avenue with intermediate stops at Suitland and Naylor Rd.
- Express buses between Branch Ave and Southern Ave.
Stations closed: Branch Ave, Suitland and Naylor Rd.
Work performed: Switch replacement, grout pad and tie replacement and station rehabilitation.
