Among the dozens of coffee shops and coworking spaces in D.C., including a forthcoming one designed for women, Capital One bank has announced it’s rolling out a concept that combines free wifi and ATMs, coffee, and financial counseling.
The bank announced on Wednesday that it’s bringing two Capital One Cafe locations to D.C. in Georgetown and Chinatown (not far from the newly-named Capital One Arena), as first reported by The Washington Business Journal.
The cafes are “inviting spaces” where customers can take care of their normal banking business, plus work on their personal computers in lounge areas, meet with people individually or in groups, and get answers to financial questions from experts, according to the cafe’s website.
Anyone can utilize the space and schedule up to three 60-minute consultations with money coaches for free, but pastries from local shops and Peet’s coffee and beverages come with a price.
Capital One already has nearly two dozen cafe locations in California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Richmond, Virginia, which is the closest location to D.C.
Both cafes in the District are expected to open late next year, WBJ reports.
