Police arrested a 13-year-old boy who they say tried to abduct a woman by dragging her into the middle of a road on Saturday evening in Woodbridge.

The 36-year-old woman told police that she noticed the suspect following her on his bicycle as she walked along Elm Farm Road, according to a release from the Prince William County Police Department. After getting off his bike, the woman said the teenager ran toward her and dragged her into the middle of the street.

The woman screamed and got away from the teen, who then ran away. She suffered minor injuries from the incident.

Fairfax County police officers used a K-9 and helicopter to search for the boy, who was eventually found nearby. They arrested the unidentified minor, of Woodbridge, and charged him with abduction.

He’s being held in a juvenile detention center, and his court date is pending.
