A man is dead after jumping in front of a Metrorail train at L’Enfant Plaza on Monday morning.

Metro spokesperson Ron Holzer said that an Orange Line train fatally struck the man after he intentionally jumped in front of it.

After the incident, which took place around 10 a.m. riders experienced delays on the Orange, Blue, and Silver Lines.

The victim is William Pete, Jr., according to his sister Pendora Lundy, who is raising money to prepare for his memorial. According to the GoFundMe Page, Pete was homeless and suffered from bipolar disorder. He’s leaving behind two daughters.
