Trader Joe’s is coming to Georgetown’s northern end.
The California-based grocery store applied for a license with the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration, and they’re scheduled for a hearing on November 27.
The location, 2101 Wisconsin Avenue NW, was home to a Holiday Inn that shuttered in 2015. JBG Companies and Eric Colbert & Associates are redeveloping the site into The Glover House—mixed-use development with 225 residences and 20,000 square feet of retail, according to Urban Turf.
A new Trader Joe’s is also opening in D.C. on Friday at 750 Pennsylvania Avenue SE—the site of the Hine School redevelopment in Eastern Market. Another one is slated to open this year near Union Market.
D.C. currently has two Trader Joe’s, near U Street and Foggy Bottom.
