Around noon on Thursday, fire crews battled a two-alarm fire in an apartment building as a dark cloud hovered over Logan Circle.
Fire officials said that the fire was accidental, caused by an electrical malfunction.
The flames came from an occupied, four-story apartment building near Q and Vermont streets NW, according to D.C. Fire and EMS, which reported that a firefighter has sustained non-serious injuries.
The mayor’s office and Red Crossed are assisting displaced residents, who were temporarily relocated to 1630 Vermont Avenue NW.
