Police say that a dog was stolen at gunpoint in Southeast on Tuesday.
They’re now searching for the person who took Heaven from her owner and asking for the public’s assistance.
The incident took place around 5:20 p.m. in the 2600 block of Pomeroy Road when a man got out of a car and approached the owner who was walking the pit bull, according to a D.C. police report. While holding a gun, the suspect told the victim to “come up off the dog.”
The owner dropped the one-month-old pup’s white leash, and the suspect took the dog and got back into the car—a silver-colored sedan with tinted windows.
