The Orange, Blue, Silver, and Lines will have the longest wait times this weekend at 24 minutes. Crews will be working to install communication cables along the Orange and Blue Lines. Silver Line trains will run between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston only to avoid conflict with the work.

Elsewhere on Metrorail this weekend, riders traveling between Medical Center and Grosvenor stations will have to catch shuttle buses. Crews will be working on a leak mitigation project that will cause Red Line trains to run in two segments—between Shady Grove and Grosvenor stations and between Medical Center and Glenmont stations.

A rail fastener renewal project will cause both the Green and Yellow Lines to run every 15 minutes. And Yellow Line trains will only be operating between Huntington and Mount Vernon Square stations.

Red Line

Buses replace trains between Medical Center & Grosvenor | 7:00 a.m. Saturday until closing Sunday

From 7:00 a.m. Saturday through closing Sunday, buses will replace trains between Medical Center and Grosvenor. Please add 15 minutes of travel time for each station stop.

Red Line trains will operate regular weekend service, in two segments:

• Between Shady Grove & Grosvenor
• Between Medical Center & Glenmont, with additional trains 9AM-9PM between Silver Spring & Farragut North

Last train time change:

• The last train of the night from Shady Grove (destination: Grosvenor) will depart 24 minutes earlier than normal – 12:01 a.m. on Saturday and 10:01 p.m. on Sunday.
• The last train of the night from Glenmont (destination: Medical Center) will depart at regular time.

Crews will continue the expanded leak mitigation pilot and perform rail and fastener renewal.

Orange Line

Single tracking between Foggy Bottom and Clarendon to allow for radio cable installation.

Silver Line

Trains every 24 minutes | 7:00 a.m. Saturday until closing Sunday

Silver Line trains will operate between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston only to avoid conflict with Orange and Blue Line single tracking. Customers traveling to/from other stations should use Orange and/or Blue line trains to complete their trip. At Ballston, transfer between Silver and Orange line trains on the same platform.

Blue Line

Trains every 24 minutes | 7:00 a.m. Saturday until closing Sunday

Single tracking between Foggy Bottom and Arlington Cemetery to allow for radio cable installation.

Yellow Line

Trains every 15 minutes | 7:00 a.m. Saturday until closing Sunday

Yellow Line trains will operate between Huntington and Mt Vernon Sq. only to avoid conflict with Green Line single tracking. Customers traveling to/from other stations should use Green Line trains to complete their trip. At Mt. Vernon Sq., transfer between Yellow and Green line trains on the same platform.

Green Line
