Walking around today, you may have thought to yourself, “Wow, I’m glad I brought my coat!” or “I wish I had worn my coat!”, depending on what outerwear you chose when you left the house.
It truly feels autumnal in the air, and that chill will carry into the evening. The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory from midnight to 9 a.m. on Friday morning, meaning that “widespread frost is expected.”
NWS forecasts temperatures to drop into the mid-30s by dawn and warns people to cover their sensitive outdoor plants, lest the frost damage or kill the flora.
It’s not the first frost advisory of the season, which occurred on October 17, but don’t put your summer clothes away just yet.
NWS expects a high of 71 degrees on Saturday.
Frost/Freeze headlines remain in effect for tonight. Temperatures will be down into the 30s. Protect any sensitive vegetation! pic.twitter.com/cu8Af0Xv28
