D.C. bars are not afraid to dip into politics, especially when there’s an excuse to peddle discounted drinks. Just look at this past summer, when the James Comey testimony sparked a slew of deals, including free drinks for certain Trump tweets. There were specials for the Jeff Sessions hearing, too.

The latest fodder is Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russia’s alleged election meddling. Poultry-happy restaurant The Bird (1337 11th St. NW) in Logan Circle announced it’ll offer $5 “Moscow Muellers” any time a Trump associate is indicted in the ongoing investigation.

The Bird has gotten political in the past, too. It currently offers $4 happy hour drinks from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. any time a senior White House official gets the boot.

“With our politically themed ‘You’re Fired,’ happy hour, it was only natural that we’d weigh in on the Mueller Investigation,” says The Bird’s general manager Stephen Antoniewicz.

“In such a political city, I think a lot of residents are looking for something fun to do in spite of the constant amount of news generated by the administration.”

The renamed Moscow Mule cocktail will be available for $5 on the day an indictment is announced and will be available all night.
