THURSDAY: Barbecue at The Source
The Source by Wolfgang Puck is teaming up with the local pitmasters at Sloppy Mama’s BBQ for a Summer Kick-Off BBQ on June 14 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. outside the Penn Quarter restaurant. All-inclusive $50 tickets will get you a taste of dishes including roasted pig, bone-in ribeye steak, and Chinese 10 spice and citrus blood sausage. One Eight Distilling is mixing up mint juleps and 3 Stars Brewing Company is pouring brews. Tickets can be purchased online.
FRIDAY-SATURDAY: Beer, barbecue, and bourbon tasting
Fans of beer, meat, and brown liquors should make the trip to the National Harbor this weekend for the epic Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival. There are a range of ticket options for Friday and Saturday, including a two-day pass for $120 ($99 if purchased in advance). Get full information on the event website.
SATURDAY: (Meat) balls to the wall
This Saturday, June 16, offers a chance for a preview of The Meatball Shop D.C. ahead of its anticipated summer opening. The New York City restaurant will be serving up a selection of free meatballs and sauces from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Cotton & Reed. There will be drink specials from the Union Market distillery as well.
SUNDAY: Cider + oysters at Anxo
Anxo is spotlighting its crisp, bright Cidre Blanc, made from local Gold Rush apples that have been fermented with sauvignon blanc yeast, this Sunday, June 17, at its Oysters & Cidre Blanc Fest. Both the Truxton Circle and Brightwood locations will be offering specials from Pearl Dive Oyster Palace from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., including six raw oysters for $9 or four grilled oysters for $9. Add a Cidre Blanc to your order and get one dollar off the price.
MONDAY: Jaleo goes all-in on paella
Monday, June 18 kicks off the annual paella festival at Jaleo Crystal City. Tickets to the opening party are $35—a reasonable value considering they buy access to five stations of all-you-can-eat paella in addition to tapas, sangria, wine, and beer. The event runs from 5 to 8:30 p.m.;Tickets are available online.
MONDAY: Celebrate spring at Centrolina
Fresh off her RAMMY win for Chef of the Year, Centrolina‘s Amy Brandwein is teaming up with DC Urban Greens for a spring harvest dinner on Monday, June 18. Tickets are $65 for a four-course meal (not including drinks, tax, and tip). Expect the Italian cuisine Centrolina is known for, made from lots of local produce. The menu will be available from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and reservations may be made by calling the City Center restaurant at (202)-898-2426.
