The Red Line will give travelers some trouble this weekend as Metro will be shuttering two stations to deal with a leak. Medical Center and Bethesda Stations will both be closed. Shuttles will operate between Grosvenor-Strathmore, Medical Center, Bethesda, and Friendship Heights Stations.

Things might not be much faster on the other lines: The Orange, Silver, Blue and Yellow lines will all be traveling 24 minutes apart Saturday and Sunday. Blue line trains will only be operating between Franconia-Springfield and Eastern Market to allow for work between Eastern Market and Stadium-Armory stations. The Yellow Line is only runningfrom Huntington to Mt. Vernon Square to allow for new rail and fasteners to be put down. If you’ve got to get past Mount Vernon, take the Green Line, which—happily—will be running regular weekend service.

Red Line

Buses replace trains between Friendship Heights and Grosvenor

Red Line trains operate every 10 minutes between Shady Grove & Grosvenor and Friendship Heights & Glenmont.

Free shuttle buses will operate between Grosvenor-Strathmore, Medical Center, Bethesda and Friendship Heights. Please allow 10 minutes of travel time for each station stop.

Blue Line

Trains every 24 minutes Franconia-Springfield to Eastern Market only

Blue Line trains will operate every 24 between Franconia-Springfield and Eastern Market only. Customers traveling to/from other stations should use Silver Line trains to complete their trip.

Yellow Line

Trains every 24 minutes Huntington to Mt Vernon Sq only

Single tracking between Braddock Road and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport to allow for rail, tie and fastener renewal. Customers traveling to/from stations north of Mt Vernon Sq should use the Green Line to complete their trip.
