Filming for an unidentified project (one that sure does look a whole lot like the Wonder Woman sequel) will close several blocks around McPherson Square through the weekend.
The 1400 and 1500 blocks of I Street NW; 800 and 900 blocks of 15th Street NW; 800 block of Vermont Avenue NW; and the eastbound access lane in the 1400 and 1500 block of K Street NW; and Zei Alley will be closed from 6:30 p.m. on Friday, July 6 until 5 a.m. on Monday, July 9. During that period, the 1300 block of I Street NW and the 1500 block of K Street NW will also be closed intermittently.
The Office of Cable Television, Film, Music and Entertainment hasn’t returned a request for comment. But filming for the sequel to Wonder Woman has taken place in the District and Virginia in recent weeks, including Georgetown and the defunct Landmark Mall in Alexandria.
Residents and office workers have already spotted some unusual changes to the downtown streetscape that are period appropriate to the film, which is titled Wonder Woman 1984.
Looks like Wonder Woman is setting up to film on Farragut square this weekend. That, or a wrinkle in the space-time continuum. @PoPville pic.twitter.com/2NwsJ1PPVq
